The Ptit Bonheur la Chance open mic run by Ollie Fury has grown up little by little over the last year. Was it French school vacation period that made it the best ever last night? Perhaps, but not sure. What made it amazing was that it has never had as many spectators and musicians as it did last night – and fabulous musicians.
I am rushing off to the Highlander now, so will just let the videos speak, with a few high points of the open mic. But it was so jam packed there last night that it was standing room only for many people.
Among the high points were the first visit of one of my favorite young bands, Natas Loves You, and Zucco San’s Jacques Brel song and this hippie kind of guy singing sitting on the floor with no mic and using David Broad as a harmony vocalist. There were lots of high points, in fact, but I just got a few videos.
